It’s a big hitting week for releases as the long awaited remake of Punch Out! makes it to the Nintendo Wii for both Europe and the US. This latest iteration on the classic NES game gives you both the traditional control scheme and the new Wii/Nunchuk motion method. What’s more, the game is compatible with the Balance Board. So you can try to duck and weave about as much as possible for the most immersive (and silly looking) experience possible.
EA are slightly late to sports minigame antics on the Wii. Sports Island Wii, Beach Sports Wii and Carnival Games Wii have all done their best to combine Wii controls with simple sporting action. Taking a leaf or two out of these game's book, Celebrity Sports Showdown brings a touch of class to the genre, although without revolutionising the experience to any great extent.
Little League World Series Baseball is another game in Activision's family friendly series. Although packaged in a similar fashion, these games fluctuate in their best audience. Here we have a surprisingly well rendered and thorough version of kids baseball. This is the most involved game in the series providing even more proper game play than Pitfall The Big Adventure Wii or Pirates Hunt for Blackbeard's Booty Wii.
Pitfall The Big Adventure is another game in Activision's family friendly series. Although packaged in a similar fashion, these games fluctuate in their best audience. Here we have a game that provides a genuine adventure experience rather than a simple set of minigames like Block Party Wii or World Championship Sports Wii.
